For 22 years Willi Colino has repeatedly improved our house through her deft planning and subtle use of color. From room to room, colors talk to each other and new decor blends with old. And now a tired kitchen morphs into a sparkling new one, while Willi has once again kept to a tight budget.

I've known Willi Colino for twenty five years, personally and professionally. She designed some of the exterior and all of the interior of my summer home in Henlopen Acres, Rehoboth, Delaware. After ten years, I still find it wonderfully welcoming and pleasing to the eye and practical as well. Her sense of space and particularly her eye for color are remarkable....everyone agrees that my summer house has worn wonderfully well and even after all these years there is hardly anything I'd change, or even need to change.
Willi has also been my consultant on the remodeling and furnishing of the master bedroom, living room dining room, and the den in my former house in Bethesda since torn down to make way for two new houses. She had also been of great help in getting me settled in my new apartment at 845 UN Plaza.
I can recommend her work without reservations. Aside from being the most pleasant company, she is efficient and responsible, in my experience and that of other clients I know.

Working together with Willi over 20 years has been such a pleasure. She has an amazing sense of color and appreciation of the richness of fabric. She also is able to intuitively "read" her clients' preferences. For example, she once told me she began to build her sense of my color and design preferences from the fabric of a dress I was wearing. This sensitivity results in design projects that feel comfortable and beautiful at the same time. One quality I especially admire about Willi is her ability to infuse new life in to rooms while still integrating existing pieces. We have continued to work together over the years as my home has evolved from the center of four growing kids to a quieter environment and I am looking forward to the continuation of this fruitful collaboration.

I met Willi at a very bad time in my life --- she was/is, the world's best designer, she was too and is a very, very good friend. She was an endless source of support and help through a major house renovation and ten years later a downsizing and redecorating. The things and fabrics that she helped me with through the renovation I am still enjoying in my new apartment. Willi stayed within budget even when i wanted to indulge myself in things that she knew i would love just as much without over-spending, she endured my mood swings, impatience, and general orneriness with good humor, good grace, and loved me anyway. I first met Willi Colino many years ago through a client of hers. I was struck by her aesthetic sensibility as well as her warm and open personality.
A year later, when my husband and I sold our house, I immediately thought of Willi and called on her expertise in setting up our new home, a quite elaborate apartment. Although I insisted on a limited palette and low key furniture in order to highlight an important collection of art and fine crafts, the result was all I could have wished for. Willi introduced some fabulous fabrics into the whole which added a punch without upstaging our collection.
Soon after, we bought a waterfront townhouse in Florida. I flew Willi down and together we bought elegant tropic-style furniture, found an excellent faux painter and within three days created a beautiful and comfortable home. It is totally different in style and feeling from our Maryland apartment, but again is a backdrop for our art.
We also have a waterfron place in Annapolis and her again, Willi's competence and expertise have been very helpful.
Willi has always listened attentively to my desires, then added her own subtle suggestions. My husband and I are so grateful that these beautiful residences, so different from each other, are all expressions of our distinctive tastes and personalities.
